September 2nd - Sandhills Livestock Association - members meeting at 6:30 at the Antioch Recreation Center in the Byrdtown Community.  Guest speakers: Don Boice, ArborOne Farm Credit, will discuss the Livestock Revenue Program - how to hedge your cattle and Richie Eubanks, Pennington seeds, will discuss planting winter grazing.  Contact Tim Griggs for more information 843.858.0740 or tgriggs@coker.edu

September 6th - offices closed for Labor Day

September 8th - Congressman John Spratt and House Agriculture Committee Chairman Collin Peterson will be at the Pee Dee Education Center on Pocket Road in Florence, SC, for an open forum discussing the 2012 Farm Bill.  The public is invited to this very important meeting about the future of agriculture.  Meeting begins at 12noon.  Lunch provided by ArborOne Farm Credit at 1:30.  For more information contact Don Boice 843.307.5901.

September 18th - Thompson Farms open their 2010 Corn Maze recognizing the 100th Birthday of the Boy Scouts of America.  Sponsors are ArborOne Farm Credit and WPDE-TV.  Thompson Farms is located just outside of Conway.

September 30th - deadline for new crop insurance policies or changes to existing policies

October 17th - "Farm to Table" A Coastal Uncorked Event.  Six area chefs will be paired with local farmers and fishermen to prepare a meal served in a rustic country setting - Thompson Farm in Horry County.  Please contact Candace Howell for more information or to purchase tickets candace.howell@coastaluncorked.com
